We are the Prince George Division of Family Practice – a local innovation in health care, and part of a province-wide initiative designed to strengthen primary health care in PG.
We strive to increase primary health care capacity, and improve patient to population health outcomes.
The Division works in tandem with local and provincial organizations, as well as local community partners to improve patient care and community health.
The Division was selected as a provincial prototype in leading change to create greater access to physicians for Prince George residents.

Northern Health, with support from RCCbc, hosted the first-ever Mental Health & Substance Use Conference in Northern BC, gathering over 300 participants in Prince George on the unceded lands of the Dakelh Peoples, including the Lheidli T’enneh Nation. This landmark event brought together healthcare providers and experts from across BC to share evidence-based practices and improve the quality of mental health care in rural and northern communities.

The Prince George Division of Family Practice is situated on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh, part of the Dakelh (Carrier) First Nations.
We are honoured to work with Indigenous communities of this region, inclusive of the First Nations, Mètis and Inuit peoples. We acknowledge the First Nations peoples’ graciousness in welcoming those who are seeking knowledge to their traditional territories.
Established in March 2009 and operating first as a non-profit society, and now as a cooperative, the Division is built on a foundation and tradition of innovation, development, and continuous quality improvement. PGDFP acknowledges that it is located on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh, and are honoured to work alongside Indigenous communities in the region.
