Family Physicians
In partnership with Northern Health, the Prince George Division of Family Practice is seeking family physicians to provide primary care in our vibrant community. This includes longitudinal primary care, episodic & urgent care, obstetrics care, specialty care or a combination of any that pique your interest.
Professional Development
Physicians have opportunities to expand their skills and experience many areas of interest. Training can be funded by the BC REAP (Rural Educational Action Plan).

Prince George qualifies for rural incentives and remains convenient and affordable as a mid-size community.

Options in Prince George
The Prince George Division of Family Practice is one of the original Divisions in BC and is deeply involved in supporting the provision of health care in Prince George.
There are a variety of ways to work in Prince George:
- Leading from within and fostering shared leadership
- Unassigned inpatient shifts.
- Involvement with the University Hospital of Northern BC as a University of British Columbia Family Medicine teaching site with more than 60% of our graduates practicing in Prince George or smaller Northern communities post graduation.
- Options to become involved in teaching at all levels with the University of Northern BC Medical School.
- Engagement with the Northern Continuing Medical Education Program
- An active, innovative EMR (Electronic Medical Record) community using the locally created MOIS system which has expansive capacity to design and obtain reports and data.
